"Big Time Charlie"

No one fancies chasing the ball around on a cold northern English day in horrendous conditions and when you add our record at the venue to the equation, this was a really good 3 points in the bag. Particularly pleased that Rooney continues to bang them in (What a nice strike!) and that I saw more of Berbatov in this game than all his games so far put together. Given the rain was hammering down all through and that there were even puddles forming on the pitch, our passing and temp was brilliant. I was actually surprised we played the way we did - definitely the best display of the season so far.

Ronaldo is getting there - his pace is a handful even when he's at 70%. Anderson and Fletch were solid in the middle and Rooney and Berba were all over the park. It was good to see Berbatov more involved, making himself available at the back, dropping deep when required and participating in the build up. Good sign that.

When Giggs was taken off for Tevez, it was a treat for fans watching the mouth watering foursome on the pitch - Roo, Ron, Berba and Tevez - if the conditions weren't this horrendous, I'm sure there would have been a few more goals on the scoresheet. I don't think this is going to be regular - for the moment we'll have to cherish it whenever boss takes the liberty of fielding them all together.

A silly Int'l break next - so a while before an important game with Celtic - it's bound to be a cracker. This tie almost always provides a cup game atmosphere and am looking forward to a good win.
